EPC’s: It is now the law that all residential properties and most commercial properties on the market for sale or rent as well as newly constructed buildings, require an EPC. An EPC provides information on the energy efficiency and carbon emissions of a building so that prospective buyers, tenants, owners and occupiers can consider energy efficiency and fuel costs as part of their investment decision. I am an independent, licensed and fully insured energy assessor.
Domestic EPC’s from £60.00. Commercial EPC’s from £199.00
Fire Risk Assessments:
If you are an employer, or in control of a business premises, then you must have a current Fire Risk Assessment. This became law in Nov 2010 under the Fire and Rescue Services (NI) Order 2006. A fire Risk Assessment has 3 objectives:
1. To identify potential hazards and people at risk.
2. To evaluate the risks and possible consequences.
3. To plan implement and monitor protective measures to minimise risk.
Asbestos Surveys:
Asbestos is found in many places and quite often, people aren’t even aware of its presence. Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations NI 2007, owners and occupiers of non-domestic premises have an explicit duty to assess and manage the risks from the presence of Asbestos. Failure to comply can result in a range of penalties from fines to imprisonment, or both.
Based in the North West, I provide cost effective EPC’s, Fire Risk Assessments and Asbestos Surveys mainly in and around Coleraine, Derry, Limavady, Ballymena, Antrim, and Tyrone. I also carry out surveys throughout all of Northern Ireland. Survey fees will vary depending on the size and layout of your building, but because I am self-employed with low overheads, I am able to offer great value while still retaining the same high standards of diligence, expertise and quality.
