With all the distinctive character of a dry stone wall
The Tessela modular panelling system is created entirely from natural stone. Designed to fit together seamlessly, each panel interlocks with its neighbour, creating a natural stone covering, which is quick and easy to apply without the need for specialist labour. Tessela brings together the elegance of a natural stone finish, with the convenience of modern building materials.
The hidden strength in Tessela’s modular panelling system comes from the wire mesh which separates the natural stone from the cement backing. This useful addition also means that the product can be cut without fear of fracture by using any masonry cutting tools.

Tessela also comes in block form, which, like the panelling system, fits together seamlessly via hidden mortar recesses, giving the clever illusion of a dry natural stone wall.
As well as being a maintenance free decorative finish, Tessela blocks can be used as a weight bearing part of the construction, because the Newton rate of the concrete backing block is equal to, if not better than that of standard concrete blocks.
Being made from natural stone, each and every Tessela panel and block is entirely unique. This means that the colour and size of each piece of stone can never be exactly the same in terms of colour or texture.
With all the distinctive character of a dry stone wall, Tessela is as much a favourite with DIYers as it is with architects and specifiers.
Neither the panelling system, nor the blocks require the assistance of a specialist stonemason to be installed. Each and every piece is designed to fit together seamlessly, therefore, it can be constructed in a fraction of the time that it would take to build a traditional dry-stone wall.
The aesthetic versatility of dry stone walling means that it can be used in almost any commercial or residential setting, but never before has this been a viable option for many builders and architects because of the cost and time involved in having a wall made in the traditional way.
Quick & easy installation
Reduced labour costs
Tessela Panelling As the Tessela Modular Panelling system is made from natural stone and concrete, it requires the strength of a solid wall to hold its weight (64-84 kg/sqm).
Starting in a straight line, adhere the panels with a long toothed trowel to the substrate, taking care to apply adhesive* directly to the block, (there is no need for scoring). Never blob fix the product or give frost the chance to get in between the panels and substrate as this will weaken the bond.
For applications up to 3 metres high there is no need for a mechanical fixing and the panels can be adhered directly to the wall. For larger surface areas, 8 mechanical fixings will be required per square metre, as detailed below.
Tessela panels can be cut with any masonry cutting device without fear of fractures and cracks. As there is no grouting, finishing and little or no maintenance required with Tessela panels, your natural dry stone wall can be finished and ready quickly and easily.
*Tests have been carried out using LATICRETE 335 FLEX and we would recommend the use of this adhesive.
