From technician to designer
Our own story began in the 1980s when dental technicians Eric and Rosemary Robinson settled on a dramatic change of career. The couple were already skilled in modelling gold. However, while teeth were technically challenging, they didn't enable the Robinsons to express their creativity. They established a workshop in a property they owned on Prospect Road in Bangor and began to craft beautiful jewellery. The property also enabled them to open a store in which to showcase their original work.

There is no substitute for traditional craftsmanship or fertile imaginations. The fine jewellery imagined and crafted at Robinson Goldsmiths quickly garnered the attention of local people. Initially focussing on wedding bands and engagement rings, Eric Robinson conceived stunning pieces, realising his client's dreams. These were soon joined by wonderful creations from talented Irish, British and European designers to produce an unrivalled range.

A family affair
Daughter Jennifer McCabe grew up in the business and has become an accomplished designer herself. She now manages Robinson Goldsmiths, giving Eric more time to focus on designing and crafting his award-winning jewellery. Her sister Gillian has also joined the business, supporting the family with her sales and marketing skills.

Inspirational and unique jewellery
Eric won a Design and Innovation award (Company of Goldsmiths Dublin) at RDS National Crafts. This recognised the excellence of his inspired designs including numerous commissioned pieces. His impressive portfolio is a tribute to Northern Irish heritage and popular attractions. It includes the stunning Causeway Collection but also features exquisite designs honouring the Titanic, Belfast Brick, the natural world and tradition Celtic motifs.

Eric's much-admired collections are joined both in store and here online by the work of celebrated designers including Alan Ardiff and Garrett Mallon. You can treat yourself or someone special to gorgeous and memorable handmade jewellery fashioned from gold, silver, platinum and your favourite gemstones.

Bespoke Jewellery to treasure
Our outstanding craftsmanship, experience and innovative approach enable us to realise your vision for your jewellery. Eric and Jennifer will work with you to create captivating pieces that are truly unique. Why not distinguish your engagement, wedding or birthday with a distinctive, matchless and exclusive piece? Perhaps you would like to treat a loved one to an extraordinary gift?
