Strangford Fuels, a coal delivery business based in Strangford, was established in 1981 by Comgall Milligan. Around 1990 home heating oil and red diesel delivery was added to the coal delivery business. The home heating oil business benefited from the government policy to move Housing Executive houses away from coal to oil heating, and the heating oil, red diesel and coal delivery business outgrew the Strangford depot.
A larger, more modern site was acquired in Downpatrick in 1995. This site has been continuously developed and is now a state of the art fuel depot with offices.
Comgall’s son Gavin is a director and now runs the business, which remains a family undertaking. We have a fleet of well maintained oil, red diesel and coal delivery vehicles, including a mini tanker for heating oil deliveries where access is restricted.

We place great importance on our customer service. Our sales staff are well trained, professional and courteous. We respond urgently to oil run outs and in such situations we encourage customers to call us as early as possible to enable us to route a heating oil delivery tanker to your location.
Domestic, Commercial, Farm & Marine Oil Suppliers
We supply heating oil to homes and businesses. We also deliver red diesel to businesses farmers and fishing boats. We make frequent deliveries of red diesel to the fishing boats in Ardglass and other locations on the coast.
Coal Deliveries
Strangford Fuels has been delivering coal to homes, businesses and farms throughout County Down for almost 30 years. We make deliveries of coal and smokeless fuels - Anthracite, Phurnacite, Burnglow, Blend and Homefire; to Downpatrick, Crossgar, Strangford, Ardglass and Newcastle.

Gas & Electric Cooker Sales
Our site on Ballydugan Road includes a cooker showroom, where we offer mainly gas cookers. We entered the cooker sales business in 2007 and we have noticed the increasing popularity of gas cookers. This is due to the efficiency, convenience and ease of use of gas cookers. Peoples’ choices may also be influenced by the many TV cooking programmes which feature gas cookers on their shows.
