We are a College of around 500 pupils and 45 members of staff – we are situated in a beautiful site of 32 acres in the rural town of Coleraine on the North Coast of Northern Ireland. This coast is best known for its spectacular rocky coastline and, not least of all, for the Giant’s Causeway. Coleraine is a medium sized town with a history dating back to the ancient Abbeys. In fact, some of the first settlements in Ireland are recorded in the Mountsandel area which is not far away from the school.
In contrast, Coleraine College is equipping pupils for life in the modern world. We offer courses in all the academic subjects, but also in vocational areas such as hairdressing, motor vehicle studies, drama, learning for life and work and so on. We want to give our pupils life skills which will meet their employment targets and stand them in good stead for their adult life. We also encourage the concept of life-long learning and believe that with our help and guidance any pupil at the college can achieve their full potential and ambitions.
We have many various types of extra-curricular activities such as drama, music, various clubs and societies and of course sport. Pupils can play hockey, netball, rugby, football, cricket, volleyball, basketball as well as be involved in athletics, cross country and various indoor activities. We believe that sporting activity is a very important part of school life and would encourage all pupils to partake in the college's sports activities.
