Craigavon Borough Council Our Vision is to "serve and lead people in Craigavon," to continuously improve and develop our services and our leadership so that by working together we improve our quality of life, develop pride in our community and shape our future.
The Council spends £21 million providing a wide range of quality services to the 86,000 people living in the area - evidence in itself that the Council is involved in many aspects of the Borough.
The Council provides over 80 services to the local population. Key services include refuse collection and disposal, street cleansing, community development, economic development, environmental health, leisure services, parks provision, arts, tourism development and sports development.
Building Control District Councils, through their Building Control Departments, have a statutory building control duty to apply building regulations. These regulations make sure of the safety and health of people in and around buildings. They also protect the environment by stating that buildings must be thermally efficient, energy-efficient and reduce pollution which damages the atmosphere.
