The 14th annual Omagh Midsummer Carnival promises to be even more colourful and exciting than before! ‘Earth, Sea, Sky: Connecting Cultures’ is the theme for the 2013 Carnival with workshops, performances, games and music for children and families. Prepare to be dazzled and amazed by the breathtaking display of creative talent as the carnival weaves its way through Omagh town centre.
WHAT’S NEW IN 2013? Venue 2013 On Saturday 22nd June Omagh District Council is delighted to host the Co.Tyrone Pipe Band and Drum Major Championships in conjunction with the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Northern Ireland Branch in Crevenagh Road Playing Fields from 12 noon -6pm. Some of the bands will participate in the Carnival Parade and there will be lots of Carnival fun at Omagh County PS from 1.30pm -4.30pm - all free! The Midsummer Carnival 2013 will be one to remember. Come along and join in the celebrations and discover the fun of the Carnival!!
Parade Route 2013 The parade will begin at Grange Park, proceed along Mountjoy Road, Bridge Street, High Street, Market Street, along Campsie, finishing at Omagh High School on the.Crevenagh Road. Be sure to come along to wave and show your support!
The Carnival will take place on Saturday afternoon in Omagh County PS. There will be lots going on all afternoon from 1pm - 5pm.
Drop In Workshops : Arts and crafts with local artists: come along and get creative!
Cage Soccer – a safe and fun environment around the vibrant, energetic, team-centric spirit at the heart of sporting games.
Wheelworks Art Cart digital music workshops- learn how to make your own tracks and ringtones using a wide range of sampled sounds from all over the world. Participants will be introduced to music from a mix of cultures and countries. They will also learn how to use Apple Mac software to make digital music with the help of a professional Wheelworks artist.
West Tyrone Amateur Radio Club – talk to radio lovers all over the world
Children’s shows- clowns, magic, juggling, dance performances… and more
And lots of walkabout performers, face painting, balloon modelling and more…. Refreshments for sale by Omagh Scout Hall and Omagh County PS Parents Council.
