Welcome to the Ulster Cancer Foundation – Northern Ireland’s leading local cancer charity.

Our vision is to see the day when cancer is no longer a life-threatening disease. Our activities support this vision – from funding research into new and better treatments for cancer, undertaking education programmes to helping people reduce their risk of developing cancer.

Cancer Prevention
Since two out of three cancers are preventable, helping people reduce their risk of developing the disease is a crucial part of our work.

Care Services
There is little that causes as much anxiety and distress to patients and their families as a diagnosis of cancer. In Northern Ireland, one in three people will develop cancer during their lifetime and there are almost 9,000 new cases each year.

Campaigning and Advocacy
UCF is a vigorous and independent voice for the improvement of cancer services, healthy public policy and patients’ rights. Through our establishment of the All Party Group on Cancer and the Patients’ Forum, we take the lead in many public campaigns.

Research
The Ulster Cancer Foundation, since it was established in 1969, has been one of the major funders of cancer research in Northern Ireland. This has included funding for research projects, clinical and scientific fellowships, lectureships and chairs.
