AIDS 2000 is a charity which was formed in 1999 by Colin Angus and which is concerned with sustaining the comfort of people living with HIV and Aids and their families in Northern Ireland.
Aids 2000 is primarily concerned with raising money. We ensure that the money raised is sent in a way which people living with HIV and AIDS feel will benefit them the most. Aids 2000 also supports existing AIDS charities who may apply to them for funding.
The Annual AIDS 2000 red ribbon charity ball, which was launched by our patron Alex Best, former wife of the late George Best, helps to raise money for people affected by the disease in N.I.
The 2Kare fund at the Royal Victoria Hospital also benefits from our fundraising events. For further info, please take a look at our website.
The problem of HIV and AIDS has not diminished since it was brought to the media's attention over 2 decades ago - it has escalated.
We believe one of the most important things a person can have to protect themselves against HIV and AIDS is the right protection.
