Energia was formed in 1999 as the retail arm of The Viridian Group PLC in the de-regulated markets in Ireland. As Ireland's leading independent energy supplier, Energia is already delivering on the opportunities presented by market liberalisation. Energia's long term commitment is reflected in the development of the 750MW power station at Huntstown, North County Dublin, with enough supply capacity for 200,000 businesses.

We are licensed by the Commission for Energy Regulation as an electricity supplier and were the first supplier in the deregulated market.

Energia is part of the Viridian Group which has invested over €500 million building 2 gas fired power stations outside Dublin to assist Ireland in meeting its growing electricity demand.

Energia's commitment to the environment is demonstrated by its investment of €550M in new wind farms over the next few years.

Gas - Energia is the largest independent energy supply company on the island of Ireland.

It is a licensed by the Commission for Energy Regulation as a gas Shipper/Supplier having received one of the first of such licences in 2002.

Energia has been buying and selling gas for use in Ireland since the first quarter of 2002 for its power stations and its retail gas business.

Energia imports approximately one third of all natural gas consumed in Ireland.

By virtue of its company and gas portfolio size Energia is in a very favourable position when negotiating its gas supply deals that allows it to offer highly competitive energy supply deals to all its valued customers.
