Somme Nursing Home, Belfast

Many local residents have been walking their dogs in the grounds of the Somme for years, some for as long as 30+ years, without incident. Recently the management of the Somme have taken some sort umbrage against dog walkers. They cut down trees to block paths and erected a very flimsy fence. They have also put up signs warning that "trespassers will be prosecuted", and the staff have taken to harassing people in the grounds.
I e-mailed the management of the Somme after I was harassed in the grounds by someone claiming to work at the home. I asked whether dog walkers were banned from the grounds and why. They didn't bother to respond.
I hope that the locals remember this the next time the somme have their hand out looking for donations.
