Addupgroupni.com is an Independent Charitable group set up initially in 1998 by 'Parent Power' in swift response to a general lack of support for children living in Northern Ireland with ADD, ADHD, Autism, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia etc and other Spectrum Disorders.
The Group's Main focus is ONGOING SUPPORT for ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and ADAH children, whose conditions have to date, largely been ignored or sidelined by established self-help and/or existing groups, due to a lack of understanding and/or resources.
Addupgroupni.com is unique in several ways:
* They offer HOME HELP SUPPORT SERVICES such as Practical shopping, housekeeping, emotional befriending of families living with ADD.
* They offer teaching aides and resources, some free-of charge and some which can be purchased from their online shop – eg. Drama and music costumes and resources/music workshops.
* They act as an INFORMATION GROUP, keeping parents and children up to date on the latest ideas, treatments etc for ADHD sufferers having a DISCUSSION FORUM and even legal services if required.
* Educational support is offered both inside and outside the State systems. Alternative education and home schools are developed and researched providing support for local parents.
