| | Left WanTing More | | | | Less than two months after playing the NME Shockwaves Tour the Ting Tings returned to Belfast as headliners at a sold out Spring & Airbrake. Hyped to be the Sonny and Cher of Salford Precinct for the Noughties, the drummer singer duo consisting of Jules de Martino and Katie White, had the crowd behind them from the off. The indie/electro pop fuelled set was a little too short at just over 40 minutes but definitely sweet. Songs like Great DJ and the forthcoming single That's Not My Name', out May 12th, had everyone singing along. Katie proclaimed: “How can you know this song you crazy people.” The Tings Tings seem genuinely surprised with their popularity. Katie said: “we didn’t expect so many people to turn up tonight”. As she strutted. Pouted and had the crowd clapping along to tunes like fruit machine it’s hard to believe the The Ting Tings debut album won’t be released until May 19th. I for one will be downloading a copy - Legally of course... (GK)
