Free-Der
It's ticket a giveaway bonanza this month I tells ya. Now is a chance for you to win some lovely tickets to the sons of grunge, Feeder.
Feeder are a strange band aren't they? They're not exactly on the cutting edge of esoteric music, they're not the best musicians in the world (some would argue they're not even good musicians) and they are hardly going to have any entries in the best songs ever written category, but for some reason we all really like them. Ok, well I like them.
Perhaps it is because they've stuck to what they know, they've refused to succumb to that elephant grave yard of letting their success go to their heads, and have stuck to the four chord four-to-the-floor format that has done them proud since the days of Buck Rogers.
They've been through the meat grinder somewhat with the widely reported suicide of their drummer Jon Lee, and his replacement by ex-Skunk Anansie Mark Richardson.
They're likeable, their melodies are strong, and their lyrics are vague enough that you don't have to worry about any intellectual content, it's just shut your brain off and rock out, and I don't think there is anything wrong with that… is there? Oh, don't be such a prude!
Feeder are appearing in the Mandela Hall Friday 21st November, Tickets £24, Doors 7.30.
To win a free pair of tickets however, simply answer the following question! But have a tissue handy, because it is so difficult your ears might bleed...
What was the name of drummer Mark Richardson's previous band?
Send your answers by email into win@thebiglist.co.uk with the Feeder Comp in the subject header, and remember to include your name, address, and telephone number. Over 18s only. Closing Date is the 15/11/08 – usual terms and conditions apply.
