Free Beer At The Big Gig!
One of the most exciting projects in local music is preparing to get underway, as The Big List, Northern Ireland's number one entertainment guide, prepares to launch The Big Gig.
Not only that, but you have a chance of winning a case of free beer at the next one.
Joining forces with the movers and shakers in Northern Ireland's music scene, The Big Gig is shaping up to be a major calendar event that will be putting the freshest music in your ears and on the map.
Beginning with a bang on 24 April, and hosted in the Spring and Airbrake in Belfast, only the very best in established and undiscovered talent will be given the chance to break through the glass ceiling and given a major stage.
The first event will feature the daring math rock of ex-We Are Knives band the Continuous Battle Of Order. The two piece have already been causing a stir despite only playing a handful of gigs in their new guise, and are known to get up to all kinds of unusual musical mischief during their chaotic performances.
Black Bear Saloon are one of the biggest names in heavy rock in the city at present, and are known for their thumping approach. The band are also borne of the ashes of some big Belfast bands in the recent past, and have been on a accelerated charge to the top since their formation.
Comply or Die are a punk band with more attitude and aggression than a hungover Mike Tyson. Their music is full of intelligence and interesting musical ideas however, so make sure you're paying attention while moshing.
With only £4 entrance fee and drink promotions on the night, it'll also be an inexpensive way to check out some of the most innovative and future big talent this city has to offer.
As if it couldn't get any better, the Big List are offering attendees at the gig the chance to win a case of Corona beer. All you have to do is write a 250 to 300 word review of the gig to win.
Send in your gig review to win@thebiglist.co.uk before the May 1st, with the subject TheBigGig, and we'll select the best review and even print it in the Big List. Entrants must be over 18. Usual conditions apply. Good luck!
