The JD Set is back in Belfast with another litany of the newest and hottest acts for your listening pleasure, and you could be attending free of charge with the Big List. On Thursday 7th May as The JD Set returns to Belfast’s premier live music venue, Spring Airbrake with the enigmatic Dan Black and Northern Ireland's Two Door Cinema Club. David Gedge of The Wedding Present will host and perform a one-off collaboration at the gig, following in the footsteps of Don Letts, Hugh Cornwell (former front man of The Stranglers), and Adele from Sons and Daughters. Dan Black is an electro indie purveyor with many a music title and radio station playing his music. Living between London and Paris, he is releasing his debut album this May. Two Door Cinema Club are a three piece from Bangor, Northern Ireland. In just two years they’ve earned plaudits from local and national press and have been likened to Death Cab For Cutie and Broken Social Scene. They make indie with a distinctly pop edge thanks to the melodic vocals and easy guitar riffs. Their drum beats come from a machine also imparting an electronic, modern feel to their sound. This JD Set Tour will form part of a bespoke TV series filmed for Channel 4. Each band will feature in an individual 15 minute show with behind the scenes interviews from Russ Tannen. The JD Set began life in 2002 and has since established the reputation for delivering a snapshot of some of the most forward thinking and dynamic musicians in the ever changing UK indie scene. During its six-year history, The JD Set has played host to artists such as The Wombats, Little Boots, Foals, Esser and VV Brown.
