Big Gig No. 8!
The Big Gig is the monthly club in Ormeau Avenue’s SPRING & AIRBRAKE showcasing some of the finest new and established bands that the North & South of Ireland has to offer. This month it takes place on FRIDAY 27 NOVEMBER with a startling line-up.

This month we have rockabilly renegades SABREJETS, outspoken rebellion rousers TIN POT OPERATION and newly formed Derry Rock Quartet NO MEAN CITY.
Tickets available over the bar in Katy Dalys for £4 and on the door on the night.
This month's daring line-up is one of the most eclectic yet, featuring a Belfast institution, the Sabrejets. Frontman Brian Young has been stomping around the city and elsewhere embroiled in the punk scene since the mid 80s, with his previous bands joining the likes of The Jam on UK tours. Sabrejets are his latest endeavour with a musical pedigree matched by few. Their high octane filthy and raucous rockabilly is bold, brash and bursting with a finely tuned rawness that few can parallel.
Tin Pot Operation have been called a lot of things, including Belfast's Clash. Their impassioned, cutting, and brave music is borne from steadfast adherence to the band's integrity and ideas as they mow their way through critics and dissenters. The band has earned popularity and respect in equal measure as their success around and outside Northern Ireland continues to rapidly expand.
No Mean City are a biting new rock band from Derry, consisting of members from previously respected bands and fronted by the striking Jilly St John. Raw guitar riffs and syncopated rhythms form a formidable force behind the funky female vocals of this hotly tipped outfit.
The Big Gig No.8 takes place on 27 November in the Spring and Airbrake. Doors 9pm, admission an incredible £4! Doors 9.00. Drink promotions through the night.
