The Co Down Culloden is a five-star hotel, with a sophisticated Spa on offer too. We enjoyed a lunch in the Spa's Juice Bar, with the whole experience billed as an antidote to winter blues. It proved to be dreamy one too, with a softly illuminated room and one-to-one attention of someone whose hands really do massage away daily woes and tensions first off. Modesty preserved under luxury bath sheets, the therapist for the hour-long ESPA Aromatherapy Massage used blended essential oils - picked to suit individual requirements such as detoxifying, antiinfection, muscle relaxing and energising - to give a therapeutic full body massage to ease tension and relax the mind. To make the best of it, arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your appointment, as they suggest, so as to make the most of the experience by allowing time to relax with a heat experience or unwind in the comfort of the quiet room, (pictured) to help maximise the effects of your treatment too. Take time to enjoy the pool and the relaxing Jacuzzi and eucalyptus steam room afterwards too. The Spa Health Club facilities - the swimming pool, Jacuzzi, marble steam room and needle shower, and the fitness suite - were all very good, and rounded off the natural experience of the massage. There's even a special offer at the Spa presently, a Welcome Foot Ritual, the hour-long ESPA Detoxifying Full Body Massage and a ESPA Boutique Facial. Followed by a Detoxifying Herbal Tea and the promised light lunch in the Spa's Juice Bar, the whole thing, including use of all the other Spa facilities and pool, is £99, (Monday-Thursday).
