Father and son injured in gun incident

A father and son have been injured following an incident in Co Tyrone in which a shotgun was discharged.

At around 10pm last night, a man was confronted by a gang of men as he opened the door of his Derryvale Road home in Dungannon.

The men entered the house and a heated argument then took place. During a short struggle a shotgun was then discharged. The householder received minor head injuries and his son received a broken arm and cheekbone.

It is not believed that the incident is paramilitary-related.

Man accused of sword attack released on bail
A man accused of attempting to murder two men in Newry with a samurai sword has been released on bail. Mark McNulty, 22, of Canal Street in Newry, was accused of stabbing the two men with a sword, as well as threatening to kill a third man, during the alleged incident in the Co Down city last month.

Mother and two sons attacked at home
A mother and her two sons have been attacked at their house in Co Antrim on Thursday. Two masked men attacked the 46-year-old woman and her sons outside their Moss Side Gardens home, near Ballymoney, at about 11pm.

Omagh rescue hero’s son killed in hit and run incident
A teenage hit-and-run victim was the son of the police sergeant who took charge in the aftermath of the Omagh bomb in 1998. Richard Marshall, 16, whose body was found on the roadside at Fivemiletown, County Tyrone early on Sunday January 27 was the oldest son of Sgt Philip Marshall, and his wife Wendy.

Councillor's 4-year-old son handles supect package
A suspicious package has been sent to the home of a Sinn Fein councillor in Ballymoney. His four-year old son carried the package, containing a video case and battery wired up to a tube, into councillor Philip McGuigan's County Antrim home.

Appeal For Information On Shooting Incident In Banbridge
Banbridge PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a shooting incident. A man, aged in his 20s, suffered minor head wounds when a suspected shotgun was fired at a house on Railway Street, Banbridge at about 8.15pm on Wednesday 22 September. Police have said that two men and a woman were in the house at the time of the incident.
