Four dissident republican accused appear in Dublin court

Four men from County Armagh have appeared at Dublin's Special Criminal Court today in connection with membership of "an illegal organisation styling itself the IRA".

The four men, ranging from 20 to 50 years of age, were arrested last Friday night by Gardai in County Monaghan. The men were all remanded in custody until November 19.

This is second sitting of the court in two days in relation to alleged dissident paramilitary activities. On Saturday, two men arrested in Limerick appeared at Dublin Special Criminal Court charged with membership of an illegal organisation and possession of explosives and ammunition. One of the men also faced a further charge of possession of an assault rifle. The pair were remanded in custody until Wednesday.

Four Charged In Connection With Blake Newland Murder
Four people are due to appear before Ballymena Magistrates' Court charged in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Blake Newland. The Limavady teenager died after being found with serious stab wounds at a house in the town on Friday, 02 February. Detectives investigating the murder, have now charged two men, aged 27 and 29, with murder.

Four Die In Fatal Collision In Armagh In Early Hours Of 24 March
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a fatal collision in Armagh in the early hours of Sunday, 24 March. A driver and three passengers died when the grey Volkswagen Golf they were travelling in crashed on the Ballynahonemore Road at around 2.10am.

Four Men Sentenced Over Co Antrim ATM Thefts
Four men have been sentenced in connection with a series of ATM thefts in the County Antrim area over four years ago. The investigation related to a number of ATM thefts between 27th October 2018 and 6th December 2019, including the theft of two cash machines at a supermarket on Castle Way in Antrim.

Woman And Children Held Captive In Aggravated Burglary
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information after a woman and four young children were held captive as their home was ransacked in an aggravated burglary in East Belfast on Saturday, 06 April. Police received a report that around 10.45pm, four masked men entered a house in the Greenwood Hill area of Castlereagh.

Eight men due to appear in Dublin High Court
Eight men arrested by Gardai investigating dissident republican activity in the Ireland were due to appear before the anti-terrorist Special Criminal Court in Dublin on Thursday, December 20. The men were detained when police raided a meeting in Limerick city on Monday.
