Man Remanded Over Threats To Kill Gardaí
A 49-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being charged with threatening to kill a gardaí officer.
The Garda Emergency Response Unit arrested Paschal Kelly, with an address in Cormeen, Ballyjamesduff, in Co Westmeath on Thursday night.
Gardaí say that he has been charged with failing to file tax returns, road traffic offences, including dangerous driving and endangerment and threatening to kill a garda.
He was remanded in custody to Clover Hill District Court next week.

An investigation has been launched following a number of threats to kill and cause serious harm to persons made on social media over the past few days. Gardaí have conducted a number of planned searches in the Athlone area, searching for weapons which were displayed in these videos and media devices used in the commission of these crimes.

Man In Court Over Clontarf Murder
A 41-year-old man is due in court this afternoon charged in connection with the murder of Finbar Dennehy. Mr Dennehy, 50, was found dead in his apartment last Wednesday stabbed to death in Clontarf, Dublin. The suspect has been in police custody since Saturday night when he was arrested by Gardai at a guesthouse in Dublin city centre at around 8pm.
