A 10-year-old boy is wanted by gardaí in connection with an attempted robbery in Waterford city on Thursday night.

Gardaí said they believe the boy tried to get in through the window of a house at Rathfadden Villas at about 22:45.

It is understood that a woman who lives in the property was home at the time, when she head someone saying, "Hello."
