Call For Investigation Following Mick Wallace Allegations

Sinn Féin is calling for an immediate police investigation to be carried out into claims made by Independent TD Mick Wallace at the Dáil on Thursday.

Mr Wallace claimed the proceeds of one NAMA loan sale, for properties in Northern Ireland, had been diverted to an account in the Isle of Man.

He also alleged that £7m had been earmarked for a politician.

MLA Mr McGuinness said: "These claims are very serious and must be thoroughly investigated.

"That investigation needs to begin immediately and I would encourage Mick Wallace to speak to An Garda Síochána and the PSNI as a matter of urgency.

"It is absolutely clear that these serious allegations made on the floor of Leinster House need to be subjected to rigorous and full investigation."
