Two Men Arrested After Petrol Station Robbed In Donegal

Two men have been arrested in connection with a robbery at a petrol station in Killybegs, Co Donegal.

The incident happened at premises on the Donegal Road at around 4.50pm on Saturday.

The men, armed with iron bars, damaged the shop, threatened staff and demanded money.

They made off with a sum of money in a Ford Focus in the direction of Donegal Town.

The Ford Focus crashed into a car outside Donegal Town and the three occupants fled on foot. Two men in their 20's were arrested following a foot chase and the money recovered. A third man escaped.

The two males were detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Ballyshannon Garda Station and are scheduled to appear at a special sitting of Sligo District Court on Monday.

Bomb Factory Discovered In Donegal
Three men have been arrested following the discovery of bomb making equipment in Donegal. Garda located several devices and bomb making materials in a wooded area of Rahpoe and arrested three men from Strabane in Co Tyrone. Two are being held in Letterkenny garda station, and one in Milford garda station.

Two armed and masked men have robbed a filling station in County Donegal. At about 3.30pm on Thursday, the pair - one carrying a shotgun, the other a handgun - entered the premises just over the border from Northern Ireland - near Killea.

Donegal Post Office Robbery Investigated
Gardaí in Co Donegal have launched an investigation after a post office in Ramelton was robbed. It is understood that the robbery was carried out by three men, who escaped with an undisclosed sum of money. The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination.
