Ballymena bus builder to create 120 new jobs

Around 35 new jobs are to be created by Ballymena bus builder, Wrightbus, bringing the number of recent new posts to 120.

Wrightbus, which now employs a total of 650 people, announced the news despite the fact that there has been a general slowdown in orders for new buses across the UK.

Since September the company have taken on an additional 85 staff, while its current recruitment programme will bring in 35 new people over the next few months.

The company, which is the UK's biggest independent coach body builder, pioneered and introduced the UK’s first low floor accessible passenger bus, a project developed with support from the Industrial Research and Technology Unit.
