Local businesses warned by police over latest money scam

The police have warned people and particularly local businesses to be on the look out for letters from Toga in the African continent which are part of a money scam.

The letters were posted several days ago and should arrive on Thursday January 10 with police asking the business community to be particularly vigilant.

People who receive a letter are warned not to reveal any personal details or information on their banking arrangements.

Emails are also circulating purporting to be from the son of the late former president of Tanzania. It offers businesses a percentage of the millions claimed to be left in the late ruler’s will.

Anyone who is in receipt of such a letter are asked to take it to their local police station where it will be forwarded to the Fraud Squad. (AMcE)
