Ernst & Young Recruit 300 In Ireland

Ernst & Young is to hire more than 300 workers in Ireland the next 18 months.

The accounting and consulting firm is recruiting graduates, accountants, tax specialists and senior executives for offices in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Waterford and Belfast.

Around 25 of the new jobs would be based in Belfast, where about 130 people are currently based.

Ernst & Young said its expansion is a response to new business opportunities ahead of the economic recovery with it already employing 1,100 people in the Republic and Northern Ireland.

Half of the new jobs are for recent graduates, and it is hoped all of the positions will be filled within 18 months.

A hundred new jobs will be at its advisory business and 50 are top jobs in areas like tax, accountancy and advisory services.

PSNI Seize Over £309,000 Worth Of Drugs In NI
The PSNI seized over £309,000 worth of drugs during the first two weeks of its latest campaign in relation to drug dealing. From the start of Operation Torus on 27 February to 13 March, police conducted 244 searches across Northern Ireland resulting in 59 arrests and have also charged or reported 43 people to the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).

A fast food chain is to create 300 jobs in Northern Ireland as part of expansion plans. Four Star Pizza has announced plans to open 18 new stores in NI in a £3million investment.

NI To Receive £120m Additional Funding In Budget
Northern Ireland is to receive additional funding of almost £120 million in the Spring Budget. Chancellor Philip Hammond unveiled the details in the House of Commons today, 07 March. There will be an extra £90m through to 2019-20 and the capital budget will get an extra £30m through to 2020/21.

Fire Crews Tackle Blaze At Linen Mill In Co L'Derry
Fire crews have tackled a blaze at a textile plant just outside Maghera in Co L'Derry. It is understood the fire occurred at William Clarke and Sons linen mill at around 1.40pm on Sunday, 26 February. The firm describes itself as home to "Ireland's oldest linen fabric mill".

More than 300 new jobs are to be created by Convergys Corporation in Londonderry, Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has announced. The American corporation will create 333 new jobs when it establishes a new customer services centre in Derry in collaboration with EE, the mobile phone network.

Device Found Outside PSNI Officer's Home In L'Derry
A number of homes have been evacuated after a device was found outside the home of a serving police officer in L'Derry. The device was discovered under a car in the Culmore area on Wednesday, 22 February. Army bomb disposal experts are currently at the scene which has been sealed off.

Teleperformance To Create 800 New Jobs
Teleperformance is to create 800 new jobs in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh. The firm is an outsourced customer service management company and the new centre in Enniskillen is its third in Northern Ireland. The company plans to create the new jobs by 2018.

Metaverse Mod Squad, providers of managed digital engagement services, has announced it is to create 100 new jobs. The US-owned firm is to establish a new centre at the City Factory in L'Derry.

More Than 400 New Jobs Announced By Kainos
More than 400 new jobs are to be created by Belfast-based IT firm Kainos. The company has announced that 403 new jobs will be created as part of a "major expansion". A number of the new roles are understood to be based in L'Derry.

PwC Announces 800 Jobs For Belfast
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has said it is to create 807 new jobs in Belfast. The roles will be filled over the next five years. More than 300 of the jobs will be for qualified accountants and graduates in the firm's new financial advisory service. The remaining 500 posts will be for graduates recruited for the firm's global client businesses.

Belfast Firm Creates 100 New Jobs
A total of 100 new jobs are to be created as part of a £40m investment in Northern Ireland. Delta Print and Packaging, which is based in west Belfast, designs and manufactures cartons and packaging for food and electronics companies, such as McDonalds and Nokia.
