Murdered Man Found In Car

A murder investigation has been launched after the body of a man was found in a car in County Down.

The man has been named locally as Philip Strickland,36. He was found in a car on Quarry Road, off the Ballydrain Road, near Comber on Wednesday.

It is understood that the murder took place around 21.00 on Wednesday night and the victim is said to be from the comber area but his identity has not yet been officially released.

A number of vehicles are said to have made off down the Ballydrain Road after the incident in the direction of Lisbane.

Police have taken a small blue car hatchback car away from the scene in a recovery vehicle and the area has been sealed off as forensic experts comb the ground for clues.

Appeal After Masked Men Force Entry Into Home Of Elderly Man
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information after five masked me forced entry into the home of an man aged in his 70s, on the Saintfield Road. Police received a report shortly before 11.30pm on Saturday, 17th February that between 10pm and 10.30pm on the same evening, five masked men entered a house in the Saintfield Road area.

Two Men Arrested In £500,000 Drug Seiure In South Belfast
Two men have been arrested in connection with a £500,000 drug seizure following searches in South Belfast. On Friday, 01 March, detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch stopped and searched two vehicles in the Lisburn Road area. Class B controlled drugs were recovered from both vehicles which were also subsequently seized.
