Living History At Dunluce Castle
Throughout the summer visitors to one of the Antrim Coast's most iconic landmarks are being treated to a glimpse of life in medieval times.
Ladies, lords and servants will wander the castle grounds to tell their stories - perhaps you could meet one of the workers from the kitchen that fell off the cliff into the sea
Every Saturday until August 11 the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) will recreate what life was like at Dunluce Castle, the spectacular cliff top castle between Portrush and Portballintrae.
NIEA Archaeologist Rhonda Robinson said: "Every weekend throughout the summer visitors will have a wonderful opportunity to experience what life was really like at this late medieval castle. Each weekend you will get a chance to meet different medieval figures from Dunluce, servants and soldiers, ladies and lords . Listening to their stories and watch how they demonstrate their crafts and weapons will help bring the history of the Castle alive and give visitors a sense of what life was like in this dramatic castle."
Dunluce Castle was once the stronghold on the McDonnells, Earls of Antrim and Lords of the Isles.
This event is part of NIEA's 'Bringing History Alive' programme held across Northern Ireland.

Man Critical After Falling Over 30ft Into A Cave In Co Antrim
A man has been seriously injured after he fell over 30 feet into a cave near Dunluce Castle in Co Antrim. The incident happened at around 4.45pm on Sunday, 24 July. A spokesperson for the Coastguard said an inshore lifeboat rescued him. He was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast where he remains in a critical condition.
