£95k Roads Resurfacing Scheme For Antrim
Roads Minister Danny Kennedy has announced the start of a resurfacing scheme for the A57 Dublin Road in Antrim.
The scheme will cost a total of £95,000.
Work started on the project yesterday (Monday 24 June) and will continue for 12 days between Belmont Road and Kirbys Lane.
Mr Kennedy said: "The improvements will result in the overall strengthening of the road and road users will quickly realise the benefits of the new carriageway surface."
Dublin Road will be closed to through traffic from Tuesday 2 July to Thursday 4 July to facilitate the works. Further details of the closure and diversion route will be advertised in advance, but the Roads Service has carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public.
Some delays are to be expected and road users should allow additional time when planning a journey.
All planned work dates are subject to favourable weather conditions and Roads Service will keep the public informed of any change.

The Green Party has welcomed the decision by charity & social, Orchardville, to run the Promote Learning Disability Service in Bangor after it was under threat of closure. Although delighted by the news, Councillor McKee said that it was "disgraceful" that day opportunity placements for 52 adults were put under threat.
