Bishop Street In L'Derry To Be Resurfaced

Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced the start of a £175,000 major resurfacing scheme on Bishop Street, Londonderry, this week.

The work is due to begin on Monday 29 July 2013 between the junction at Abercorn Road and the junction with Foyle Road and will last for five weeks.

The Minister said: "This work is indicative of my Department's on-going commitment to maintain and upgrade the road infrastructure in the Londonderry area, as we continue to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The cost of the work will be £175,000 and temporary traffic management arrangements will be required. I would ask for the patience and co-operation of both residents and road users for the duration of this very necessary work."

A road closure will commence on Tuesday 20 August and continue until Sunday 25 August between the hours of 8.30am to 5pm to allow final surfacing. During these closures all traffic will be diverted via Foyle Road and Abercorn Road.

The scheme is expected to be completed on 30 August 2013.
