Belfast Council Announces Business Programme

Belfast City Council has announced a new business programme to help local companies achieve success.

The Strategy in Business initiative is now recruiting 15 small businesses in the city to take part in the scheme, which will assist them to develop a strategic plan for future growth.

The programme will include a series of tailored business development workshops, one-to-one mentoring and a special 'health check' to assess and bolster each company's position.

Councillor Deirdre Hargey, Chair of Belfast City Council`s Development Committee, said: "The Strategy in Business Initiative is an excellent business development programme for small companies and social enterprises across Belfast to sign up to.

"The support the programme offers is important in the current difficult economic climate as it encourages businesses to be innovative and focused on achieving successful outcomes for growth in their businesses. We are also encouraging small businesses to plan for the future and take advantage of the opportunities the marketplace will offer."

On completion of the programme, participating businesses will receive an award from the University of Ulster in Professional Development.
