Lough Erne Apartment Complex Opens

A new complex of 12 self-catering apartments has been opened near Lough Erne in Fermanagh.

Tourism Minister Arlene Foster officially opened the Westville Watersedge Apartments in Enniskillen this week.

The complex overlooking Lough Rossole and Lough Erne has been awarded four-star status under the Northern Ireland Tourist Board's Accommodation Quality Grading Scheme.

Minister Foster said: "Visitors come to Enniskillen to enjoy our beautiful natural landscapes, as well as our visitor attractions, and it is important that we have a full mix of accommodation available to make their stay as pleasurable as possible.

"This luxurious complex of serviced apartments is a marvellous addition to our existing accommodation assets in Fermanagh. Providing all the comforts of a hotel stay, with the added freedom and independence of a private space, the apartments will appeal to families and groups looking for an affordable getaway.

"Our local tourism industry is going from strength to strength and the feel-good factor since the G8 summit is strong. High quality accommodation such as this is essential if we are to build on the achievements to date and reach our tourism goals."

Caroline Adams, NITB Quality and Standards Manager, said: "NITB's Quality Grading Scheme is designed to give visitors a clear idea of the standards of hospitality, service, cleanliness, comfort and food they can expect during their stay. A four-star rating is a reflection of excellence and one that will inspire great confidence in visitors who book a stay in these superb apartments."
