Man Rescued After Boat Sinks In County Down

The Coastguard have rescued a man from the water after a boat sunk off the coast of Portavogie, Co Down.

At around 12.30pm on Wednesday, emergency services were alerted and lifeboats were sent to the scene.

A rescue helicopter from Dublin was also called.

The condition of the man is not known, however he has been taken to Musgrave Park Hospital.

22-Year-Old Man Jailed For Rape At Laganside Crown Court
A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to six years for rape at Laganside Crown Court. Ahmad Alsbaihi was sentenced to six years. He will serve three years in custody and three years on licence. He will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) for 10 years.

Fishermen Rescued By Helicopter
The coastguard has rescued seven men after their fishing boat ran into trouble off the North Coast. Two lifeboats and the Irish Coastguard helicopter joined the Mulroy Coatguard cliff and rescue team to perform the rescue operation at 3.30am on Tuesday.
