Flight Forced To Make Emergency Landing

A plane travelling from Belfast to Barcelona has been forced to make an emergency landing following a suspected fuel leak.

On Tuesday night, the Boeing 747 flight, which had around 150 passengers on board, was forced to re-route to Cork Airport. It landed safely at the airport just before midnight.

There have been no reports of injuries to passengers or crew. They remained in Cork overnight before continuing their journey this morning (25 June).

A spokesperson for the airport said: "We activated our emergency plan but the plane landed safely.

"The plane was grounded subject to inspection but it's not thought there was a leak."

The flight was operated by Air Contractors Limited.
