Youth games begin at UUJ
Around 200 young people are taking part in the Future Youth Games which began at the University of Ulster at Jordanstown today.
The event, which runs until Thursday, is one of Northern Ireland's biggest community relation youth initiatives involving hundreds of youngsters from across the province and border counties.
Since 1995, the Future Youth Games have run community relation's programmes for over 3,000 young people form Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
The Games use sports, arts and personal and social activities to promote mutual understanding and friendships amongst young people. At the same time, participants have the opportunity to develop their existing skills and discover some new ones.
The games, which are open to young people aged between 15 and 18 years, are being funded by Comic Relief and the European Union.

Sports Minister launches 2002 Golden Cow Youth Games
Minister for Sports, Michael McGimpsey, has launched the third annual Golden Cow Youth Games, which are due to take place in May this year. Speaking in Parliament Buildings, Stormont on Friday 22 March, the Minister officially launched the event, and emphasised the importance of recognising the many benefits which sport can bring to the community.
