NHS Workers Strike Over Pay

NHS workers have held a four-hour strike this morning and will now implement a six day work-to-rule policy in a dispute over pay.

Unite and GMB members walked out at 8am this morning, joining thousands of other health workers across the UK, to protest against the refusal to implement a pay review boards' recommendation for an across-the-board 1% pay rise.

It follows an announcement that despite the recommendation, the NHS would only give those not already receiving a progression-in-the-job pay increase, the 1% pay rise.

The unions are calling for a 1% pay increase for all NHS workers.
