Man Dies In Newtownards Air Crash
A man who died after his aircraft crashed in County Down has been named as Stephen McKnight.
Mr McKnight was from the Hillsborough area.
The incident occurred after his aircraft crashed near the runway at Newtownards airfield on Tuesday.
No one else was on board.
Alliance Party MLA Kieran McCarthy said: "This was a tragic accident which has shocked many people in the area.
"I would like to express my condolences to the family and friends of this man.
"This was a very serious incident and the family deserve to know what happened. The investigation will be difficult but I hope the authorities will be able to provide some answers."
An investigation is ongoing.

Belfast International Airport Serves 5.9m Passengers In 2023
Latest figures show that 2023 was a successful year for Belfast International Airport as it served 5.9 million passengers. Annual traffic results published by VINCI Airports show that there were almost 50,000 total aircraft movements at Belfast International in 2023, which is an increase of 23 per cent on 2022 figures.

Man Arrested In Connection With 1992 Police Officer Murder
A 59-year-old man has been arrested at Birmingham Airport in connection with a fatal mortar attack in Newry in 1992. The man was arrested on Wednesday, 21 February by detectives from PSNI's Legacy Investigation Branch, investigating the murder of Constable Colleen McMurray and the attempted murder of her colleague in 1992.

A man aged in his 70s has died in a car crash in Co Fermanagh. The collision happened at Gardiners Cross Road near Tempo on Sunday, 19 June. Diversions were put in place at the time of the crash, however the road has been re-opened. A post-mortem is to be carried out to determine the cause of death.
