Two Charged Over Cannabis Seizure In Magherafelt

Two men have been charged in connection with a cannabis seizure, worth over £400,000, in Magherafelt on Tuesday.

The men, aged 40 and 50, have been charged with a range of offences including cultivating cannabis, possession of class B drugs and possession of class B drugs with intent to supply as well as the offence of abstracting electricity.

The 50 year old man has also been charged with offences including cultivating cannabis, possessing class B drugs, possessing class B drugs with intent to supply and abstracting electricity in connection with the discovery of a significant cannabis factory in the Mullanmore Road area of Carrickmore on 17 September 2014.

The men are expected to appear at Londonderry Magistrates court today, 14 May.

The charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

Cash And Drugs Seized In L'Derry Search Operation
The Ballyarnett Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) in L'Derry have seized cash and suspected Class A and suspected Class B drugs durng a planned search of a property in the Racecourse Road area. A 20-year-old man who was arrested as part of enquiries has since been bailed pending further police enquiries.

A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the discovery of two cannabis factories in County Down. At around 9:25am on Sunday 29th January, police received a report of a disturbance in the Kilkinamurry Road area of Ballyward.
