Man In Court Over Murder Of Eamonn Magee Jr
A man, 32, has appeared in court charged with the murder of professional boxer Eamonn Magee Jr in west Belfast on Saturday.
The 22-year-old victim, who was the son of former WBU welterweight champion Eamonn Magee Sr, was stabbed in the Summerhill Park area.
Orhan Koca, who is Turkish with no fixed abode, denied the killing at Craigavon Magistrates Court.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector John McVea, said: "We have a strong line of enquiry regarding the murder weapon and we believe it is missing from a location in the area. The knife has a very distinctive green handle and I would appeal to anyone who sees or finds it to contact police.
"I would like to thank the local community for their great support during our investigation and we still need their help to solve this crime and bring justice to the Magee family."
Mr Koca was remanded in custody and is due to appear in court on 29 June.
