Two Arrested Over East Belfast Murder
Two people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Kevin McGuigan in east Belfast.
Mr McGuigan, 53, was shot in the Comber Court area of the Short Strand just before 9pm on Wednesday evening.
He was taken to hospital, however, he was pronounced dead a short time later.
It is believed he was well known in republican circles.
A man, 44, and a woman, 39, were arrested by police on Thursday night.
Police are also carrying out a number of searches in the area.
The pair are being detained at a police station in Belfast.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Police Appeal After 'Shot Fired' In North Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after reports of a shot being fired in north Belfast. No-one is believed to have been injured in the incident in the Farringdon Court area on Thursday. Police are keen to establish what happened and are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Kevin McGuigan Murder: Man Arrested
A 47-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Kevin McGuigan in August. Mr McGuigan, a former IRA prisoner, was shot dead outside his home in the Short Strand area of east Belfast on 12 August. The man is being detained at Musgrave Street police station in Belfast.

Police have arrested a 50-year-old woman in connection with the murder of Kevin McGuigan. The woman was arrested in Belfast on Thursday. She is being detained at Antrim Police Station for questioning. Three men, including senior republican Bobby Storey, arrested on Wednesday also remain in police custody.
