Appeal After Teenager Attacked In North Belfast

Police are appealing for information after a teenage boy was stripped of his clothes and beaten by two men during a robbery in north Belfast.

The attack happened in an alleyway in the Castle Gardens area on Sunday 09 August between 12.30am and 1am.

The victim was stripped down to his underwear, assaulted and robbed by the men. The pair made off with his bank card and phone.

The teen suffered grazes and bruises to his face.

North Belfast Alliance Councillor Nuala McAllister said: "I must condemn this disturbing incident and I hope the victim is able to make a full recovery from this ordeal.

"This blatant violation of a teenager's human rights cannot become common place in North Belfast, which the majority want to remain as a welcoming place, open to everyone.

"I would urge anyone with information to contact the PSNI as soon as possible. This type of behaviour must be stopped and those responsible removed from the streets immediately."
