Three Men Die In A1 Crash

Three people have been killed in a collision in County Down on Sunday.

The crash occurred on the A1 between Dromore and Banbridge at approximately 5.30pm.

Three men, believed to be in their early 20s, died after the car they were in collided with another vehicle.

The woman in the other car is being treated in hospital, however her condition is not known.

Sinn Féin MLA Caitriona Ruane said: "The road traffic accident on the A1 which has left three young men dead is a tragedy that has a wide reach.

"The young men were from both South Down and Armagh areas.

"This of course has left the communities where they come from in a state of shock. This is only exacerbated by the young age of those who died.

"Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the families and friend of these young men. As a community we will be offering any support we can in the coming days."

The A1 has been reopened.
