Man Arrested Over Murder Of Gerard 'Jock' Davison

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Gerard 'Jock' Davison.

Mr Davison, a former IRA commander, was shot and killed in the Markets areas of Belfast on Tuesday, 05 May.

The man has been taken to the Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning.

He is the fourth person to be arrested as part of the overall investigation.

Mr Davison's murder has been linked to the killing of Kevin McGuigan who was murdered outside his home in east Belfast earlier this month.

Police believe the Provisional IRA may have been involved.

The investigation is ongoing.

Man Arrested Over Gerard 'Jock' Davison Murder
Police investigating the murder of Gerard 'Jock' Davison have arrested a 42-year-old man. The former IRA Commander, 47, was shot several times in the Markets area of Belfast on Tuesday morning. The man has been detained by police. A property in north Belfast was searched as part of the overall investigation on Tuesday night.

Third Man Arrested Over Gerard 'Jock' Davison Murder Released
A third man arrested by police investigating the murder of Gerard 'Jock' Davison has been released. Mr Davison, 47, a former IRA Commander, was shot several times in the Markets area of Belfast on Tuesday morning. Three men arrested over the killing have been released unconditionally. Police do not believe the murder was sectarian.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
