Two Pipe Bombs Found In Co Antrim

Two pipe bombs have been found following two explosions in Ahoghill, Co Antrim.

The explosive devices went off at two separate addresses in the Brookfield Gardens area at around 2am on Thursday.

There were no reports of any injuries, however the front of one of the properties was damaged.

Residents were evacuated from their homes and bomb disposal experts examined the scene.

TUV Cllr Alderman Stewart McDonald condemned the attack.

He said: "Those who carried out this attack should be ashamed and the full weight of the law should come down on them.

"Fortunately, there have been no injuries. I have been with those evacuated from their homes from 3am this morning, and I am proud of how the community has come together in the face of such adversity."

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
