Two Men Arrested Over Paramilitary-Style Shootings

Two men have been arrested in connection with two separate shootings in Newry.

Two 32-year-old males were shot in the leg in Sandys Road and Armagh Road, and police believe they "may be linked".

The men, aged 28 and 26, have been detained on suspicion of attempted murder, kidnapping and possessing a firearm.

The first incident occurred at around midnight. Police believe there was a verbal altercation between two men and a 32-year-old man was shot in the leg.

In the second incident, a 32-year-old man is reported to have been forced into a dark coloured car by four masked men and driven to the Armagh Road where he was also shot in the leg.

Both men are being treated in hospital, however their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police Appeal After Man Attacked In Co Antrim
Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked in Ballymena, Co Antrim. The assault happened in the North Road area at around 3.30am on Sunday, 29 January. A gang of four or five men attacked the victim, aged 37. He was taken to hospital where his condition has been described as "serious".

Appeal For Information On Aggravated Burglary In Cookstown
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a report of an aggravated burglary at the Queens Avenue area of Cookstown on Friday 3rd February. Shortly after 10pm, it was reported that four masked men entered a property in the area with one of the men armed with an iron bar and another man armed with a suspected firearm.
