Police Appeal After Man Attacked In Belfast

Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked in Belfast in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The assault occurred in the High Street area at approximately 1.30am.

A 27-year-old man was assaulted by another male. The victim was treated in hospital for his injuries, however they are not believed to be life threatening.

The attacker is described as aged in his late 20s, around 6ft tall with mid length brown hair and a light stubble.

Anyone with any information is being asked to contact Lisburn Road Police Station on the non emergency number 101.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information after a man was found with serious head injuries in west Belfast. According to police, a man, aged in his 60s, was discovered on Dover Street on the Shankill Road. The man remains in hospital.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Intimidation And Criminal Damage
A man has been arrested on suspicion of intimidation and criminal damage. A number of attacks on homes and cars have forced families to leave the Ballysillan area of north Belfast. A 26-year-old man was arrested and he is helping police with their enquiries.
