Police Investigate 'Link' Between Two Burglaries In North Belfast
Detectives are investigating a possible link following two burglaries in north Belfast on Monday night.
In the first incident an elderly woman was knocked to the ground by a man as she answered her door in the Lawnview Street area just after 7pm.
The man made off empty handed when the woman began shouting.
He is described as aged in his 20's and clean shaven. He was wearing a black woollen hat, dark clothing and gloves.
The victim was not injured, however she was left badly shaken.
In the second incident, an elderly man was also knocked to the ground by another man as he opened the door of his house in the Graymount Drive area just before 7.30pm.
A second man also entered the house and placed his hand over the elderly man's mouth. The first man made off with an empty cardboard box. A third man remained outside the house during the incident.
One of the males is described as being of medium build with a local accent and swarthy skin. He was wearing dark clothing and a woollen hat. The second male is described as being approximately 6ft tall and of medium build with short dark hair.
The elderly man sustained a graze to his elbow. His sister, who was also in the house at the time, was not injured.
It is believed the suspects may have arrived in the area in an old type silver Vauxhall Vectra car. The car made off in the direction of Grays Lane.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
