Man Attacked With Iron Bars During Aggravated Burglary

A man has been injured after being attacked with iron bars at his home in County Antrim in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The aggravated burglary occurred in the Ballyvannon Road area in Glenavy shortly after 4am.

The victim needed to be treated in hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Police believe the incident is linked after a car was discovered burnt out in the Lurgan Road area.

The car was a black Renault Clio which had earlier been stolen from a house in the Dunmurry area.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
