Two Arrested After Counterfeit Goods Seized In Newry

Two men have been arrested after police seized a large quantity of suspected counterfeit goods in Newry.

Police, supported by TSG officers, seized the goods following planned searches in the Blaney Road area, Crossmaglen, on Friday.

Two rooms of the property were arranged as viewing areas while a third room was used as a storeroom. Goods recovered included clothing with brand names Barbour, Ralph Lauren, Hollister, Michael Kors and Chanel as well as make-up, perfume, jewellery, watches and footwear. A small quantity of fireworks and bottles of potcheen were also recovered.

A 39-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man were arrested for making or supplying articles for use in connection with fraud, possessing criminal property and possession of articles for use in fraud.

They have been released on police bail.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

PSNI Identify Body Recovered From Lough Neagh
A body recovered in a coastline area of Lough Neagh on Sunday 18th February has been identified as Alan Whiteside. The 33-year-old Mr Whiteside was reported missing to police in Antrim on Sunday, 17 December. PSNI Detective Inspector Lenaghan said that Mr Whiteside was identified following a post-mortem examination.

Police uncover two counterfeit goods operations
Police have closed down two separate counterfeit goods operations one in Belfast and one located in Portadown worth over £350,000. A range of equipment worth an estimated £200,000 was uncovered by police officers from the Serious and Organised Crime Unit in Portadown yesterday.

Man Arrested After Using Van To Attack Police Officers
The PSNI has condemned an incident in which a man used a van to repeatedly ram a police patrol car and attempted to run over an officer in Newry on Saturday, 03 February. Shortly after 11:20pm, officers on patrol approached a man standing beside a white Peugeot van in the Castlekeele Estate area.

Man Wanted In Lithuania Arrested In Magherafelt
The PSNI have arrested a 23-year-old man in Magherafelt wanted in Lithuania to face charges of human trafficking. The man was arrested by officers from the Police Service's local policing team in Magherafelt, with assistance from the International Policing Unit. He is expected appear before extradition court in Belfast later today.

15-Year-Old Arrested Following Stabbing In Lisburn
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a 14-year-old in the Knockmore Road area of Lisburn last night, Monday 25th March. Police have said that at approximately 7.40pm on Monday 25 March, a 14-year-old boy had been approached by a group of teenagers, before being stabbed in the lower back.
